Kengo Ikeda-Iyeki
Design Engineer
10+ years shipping production web at Tumblr and MoMA, where I rebuilt the ticketing frontend and halved checkout time. I design in code: design systems AI can consume.
Experience
Full-Stack Engineer
Built digital products as part of a small in-house team responsible for the entire digital presence of one of the world's most visited museums.
- Triple Migration (2025): Co-led POC that greenlit MoMA's parallel migration to Next.js, Sanity CMS, and Tailwind CSS. Owned design system translation and scaffolded the component architecture adopted as the foundation for the full project.
- Sol Atomic CSS Framework (2023 β 2025): Extended and scaled Sol, MoMA's atomic CSS framework. Adopted beyond the core web team by the Membership product team; wrote the documentation and onboarded their engineers onto the system.
- General Admission Ticketing (2023): Cut average checkout time by more than half by replacing a third-party ticketing vendor with a frontend built in-houseβowned front-end architecture and implementation end to end.
Android & Web Product Engineer
Built experiences across Web and Android, shipping core features including the Post Editor, Reblog experience, and profile discovery used by millions of users daily.
Projects
Independently architected an adaptive design system that treats AI as a real collaborator. Engineered a structured context via MCP to expose design tokens and component specs, enabling Claude Code to reliably generate on-brand UI.
Independently concepted, designed, and built "In Rotation"βa curated, portable shelf for Bandcamp profiles that turns fan taste into social discovery.
